DuPont Washington Works began Manufacturing in the Mid-Ohio Valley region in 1948 and continues to be one of the largest DuPont manufacturing facilities in the world. The site employs approximately 700 persons in the manufacturing of six products: Zytel®, Delrin®, Rynite®,Crastin®, High Temperature Nylon, and Filaments. In addition, a significant technology organization supports product research and development.

The Jackson County Development Authority (JCDA) responds quickly to help businesses locate, grow and thrive in Jackson County, West Virginia. The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI), West Virginia’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, is focused on the manufacturing industry across West Virginia and the region.
